Welcome to Kitt Designs!

Hi, I'm Kirsten — though most people know me as Kit!

I started Kitt Designs because I couldn’t find handmade pouches and accessories that were both beautiful and fully cotton — inside and out. So I decided to make them myself. Each piece I create is carefully crafted using 100% cotton fabric and padding for softness, durability, and that comforting handmade feel.

I’m a wife and mum living in sunny Townsville, North Queensland, and I run Kitt Designs from my dining room with love, purpose, and always a coffee nearby.

Growing up in a family with a love for sewing and fabrics, I naturally fell in love with the craft from a young age. As a result of that love, I have been sewing for just over 10 years. My mum has been the best mentor I could ask for. Bringing my ideas to life brings great joy.

Our pouches may feel a little less “puffy” than some others — that’s because we use cotton wadding instead of synthetic padding. Cotton is a natural, renewable material that’s not only better for the environment, but also safer and softer in everyday use.

Many heavily padded pouches are filled with polyester, which is essentially plastic. We’ve chosen a more sustainable path — from the fabric and wadding to our biodegradable labels, stickers, and compostable satchels. Every detail is designed to tread lightly on the planet.
